The Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Division of Vall d’Hebron Hospital treats around 120 children and adolescents with cancer per year as well as up to 500 new patients with haematological conditions and performs 40 stem cell transplantations. All research is conducted through the Translational Research in Child and Adolescent Cancer Group of VHIR. There are 30 phase 1/2 and 15 phase 3/4 clinical trials ongoing and several patient registries. The candidate will join a very active team of 14 paediatric haematology and oncology consultants, 2 study coordinators, 1 data manager and 2 research nurses, and be involved in the day-to-day conduct of clinical trials and patient registries. Their main activity will be to collect data for a registry of chemotherapy toxicities in childhood cancers from electronic medical records.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
Formación Profesional Grado II or equivalent Desired:
University degree in biomedical sciences
Fluency in English
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Experience managing databases in clinical research
Experience with data entry and query resolution in clinical research projects or clinical trials
Intermediate/high knowledge of English language
Training in Good Clinical Practice / ICH (less than 2 years ago)
Desired:
Experience with data management or data entry in paediatric clinical trials or paediatric clinical research
Experience with industry-sponsored trials
Experience with biological samples processing and management
Experience in patient registries
Good communication skills and good team player
Main responsibilities and duties:
Main activity will be maintenance of chemotherapy registry for childhood cancer patients treated at the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Division of Vall d’Hebron Hospital
Additionally, the postholder will also participate in the unit’s tasks:
Data entry and data management for clinical trials in paediatric haematology and oncology
Assistance to trial principal investigators (paediatric haematology & oncology consultants) with day-to-day conduct of clinical trials at the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Division of Vall d’Hebron Hospital
Communication with sponsors
Assisting the research team with sample processing for late phase trials
Labour conditions:
Full-time position: 40h/week.
Starting date: as soon as possible
Gross annual salary: 18.589,05 – 20 000 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
Contract: temporary (12 months)
